This event is ideal for advanced practitioners, front line managers, lesson observers, and those involved in helping teachers to develop and improve teaching and learning. It can also be delivered directly to groups of teachers.

 

Overview

 

This interactive event includes activities that develop delegates' understanding of the importance of challenging learners in order to assist them to reach their potential. It equips them with tools to plan challenging tasks and strategies to effectively stretch all learners. It focuses on aspects of challenge such as developing creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, and improved communication through use of independent, experiential learning. It will also prepare teachers to develop independent learners who reach their full potential. 

 

This interactive one-day event will include practical opportunities for delegates to: 

 

Recognise the importance of stretching and challenging all learners 

Identify what information is required in order to fully challenge all learners 

Plan and use differentiated tasks and strategies to ensure all learners are challenged and supported to reach their potential 

Mentor tutors to improve stretch and challenge in teaching and learning

Deborah has an impressive reputation across the learning and skills sector. Following significant experience in FE and private training Deborah has established herself as a highly regarded consultant and popular and influential trainer.  

 

She has inspection and quality improvement experience in Colleges, Work Based Learning Providers, Adult and Community Learning, and Offender Learning Institutions. Known for her dynamic and engaging interpersonal skills and ‘down to earth’ approach, Deborah’s training sessions and presentations are much sought after. She has been an inspector with OFSTED since 2002.
