This one-day event is ideal for understanding the relationship between emotional expression and behaviour, and developing strategies to help pupils' behaviour. This programme is suitable for a maximum of 12 delegates.
Overview
Unhealthy expression of anger is affecting many pupils' behaviour in school and their attitudes to learning. Ensuring systematic and consistent management of behaviour, giving pupils an equal and fair chance to thrive and learn in an atmosphere of respect and dignity is key to every school. Behaviour is often a symptom of poor expression of emotions.
This one day course will explore the relationship between emotions and behaviour, particularly outlining some practical steps that can encourage healthy conflict resolution, and expression of feelings.
The problem:
Poor behaviour in the school environment affects both pupils and staff, influencing the quality of teaching and learning, the safety of pupils, and achievements. Behaviour results from our emotional response to events, and our understanding of the consequences of how we handle conflict and pressure.
The solution:
This one day course highlights the links between behaviour and emotional expression, tapping into emotional intelligence and resilience studies. It offers practical strategies to implement within the school environment that will encourage a healthier conflict resolution and expression of feelings, leading to improved behaviour.
